About Spousal Sponsorship Program
What's it about?
Basically, it's about being nice to people. People you love. People you like. People who have done something nice for you. People in your family. Even strangers.
It's about taking opportunities like birthdays, anniversaries and thank yous to make someone's life a little better, a little happier.
If that "someone" is the someone you share your life with, it's about sharing it a little more. About understanding why they like what they like, and finding out what you can do to help them enjoy it.
But sometimes it can be tricky to do something nice for someone. What do they want? What do they like?
Spousal Sponsorship Program works to collect the answers to those questions. Find the page for what someone likes to do, and you will find lots of information and ideas for how to do something they'll really appreciate.
Where do the ideas come from?
From someone who is active in that hobby, interest, or activity. In special cases, someone who has that medical condition. The material for the pages is provided by these people, and the people who love them and live with them. If they recommend a particular book, website, item or activity, it's because they think it's a surefire hit.
Why is it called "Spousal Sponsorship Program"?
A sponsor provides support and backing for your activities. If you're not a professional athlete with a shoe contract, the job of sponsoring you often falls to your spouse. I sponsor a tractor puller. He sponsors a restaurantaholic. My friend sponsors a bibliophile who, in her turn, sponsors a collector of vintage computers. And so on.
It also tends to fall to your spouse to inform others as to what you like. We are the ones who get the "What does he/she want for his/her birthday?" phone calls. It's our job to know these things, and we need all the help we can get.
Some people are unwilling spousal sponsors, but I love doing it. I highly recommend it!
How do you keep this going? Is this some banner ad site where things get recommended by paying you?
Absolutely not. Where links to other sites or specific products appear, it is because someone genuinely thought you would like them and/or find them useful. Once an item is recommended, we may take advantage of existing affiliate programs or allow the item to support this site through an enhanced listing (such as a logo or product photo), but the recommendation always comes first. No item may "buy" its way onto this site.
What's the catch?
No catch. You don't have to register. We don't even collect any information about you, let alone sell it to anyone else. Just read and enjoy.
